Some bleed-through from verso but otherwise in excellent condition.Elgar pens a four-measure passage from the orchestral prelude of his masterpiece The Dream of Gerontius, considered widely as his finest choral work and which he had composed the previous year.
AMQ-16064$1,650The Dream of Gerontius, Op. 38, is a work for voices and orchestra in two parts, to text from the poem by John Henry Newman. Elgar composed the work for the Birmingham Music Festival of 1900.
On the verso is an AMQ dated 1901 by the English songwriter and librettist Paul A. Rubens (1875-1917). Rubens wrote several popular musical comedies and contributed to the success of many musicals.
