Wrappers with very light spotting and some creasing at edges.A program booklet for a concert of the Royal Academy of Music Orchestra, conducted by Henry Wood and signed by him with a sentiment beneath his photograph portrait (opposite the program page). Seventy-five members of the student orchestra have also signed inside the front and back covers (about half in pencil).
The booklet also contains a brief history of the Royal Academy of Music and one black-and-white photograph each of its building, orchestra, and rehearsal space.
Celebrated conductor Henry Wood began conducting the student orchestra of the Royal Academy of Music in 1923. He was devoted to the post, rehearsing with the ensemble twice a week for twenty years. He believed it part of his duty to train the next generations of English musicians.
