Bound in contemporary brown paper wraps. Manuscript in very good, clean condition with a few light creases. Wrappers just a bit worn.A two-page autograph manuscript of a song, the first line of which begins, faites moi de votre coeur un tombeau large et haut (make your heart a tomb large and tall). In ink, signed and dated at the final measure, and with a dedication page in Collet's hand.
The dedicatee, Jacques Baguenier-Desormeaux, was a French soldier and writer who died just one day after arriving at the Belgian front in 1914. He was only 26 years old.
Collet was a French music critic and composer who coined the moniker Les Six for the well-known group of composers comprising Auric, Durey, Honneger, Milhaud, Tailleferre, and Poulenc.
