New and Complete Tutor, for the Violoncello
Bland & Wellers: London, [after 1792]. Early Edition. Engraved. Small oblong quarto. 37 pp. All the expected examples & illustrations including one foldout plate of a scale of the fingerboard. Original tooled brown leather boards. Overall very good condition. Some rubbing to spine. Spotting and toning to initial pages, but most pages clean and tight (with occasional chips at margins, not affecting).This early and rare edition likely dates to about 1800. It cannot have been issued before 1792 (the year the publishers Bland & Wellers established their firm). Preston & Son, also of London, seem to have issued the first edition in 1785.
