In excellent condition. Front wrapper with a few marks and corner wear.Oddly, first editions of Porgy and Bess are scarce and this is a very nice copy. Although not the very first issue, it was still published in 1935, the year of the first performance.
MUS-09609$750Porgy and Bess premiered in Boston on September 30, 1935, later opening in New York on October 10 of that same year. The show includes a number of Gershwin's best-known and loved tunes, including "I Got Plenty o' Nuttin", "Summertime", "It Ain't Necessarily So", and "A Woman Is a Sometime Thing".
