Stamitz, Carl (1745-1801)

Duett for Violin + Viola.

No publishing information, eighteenth century. Engraved. Quarto. 5 pp. In good condition. Title page not present (title written in ink at top margin of p. 1 in a contemporary hand). Last page detached. Still, a charming little copy.
This little duet is almost certainly by Carl Stamitz, son of the famous Mannheim symphonist Johann Stamitz. Grove attributes no fewer than thirty duets for violin and viola to Carl, some of which were published in the early 1770s, as this copy could well have been.
