Pelletier, Wilfred (1896-1982)

Photograph Signed

"Wilfred Pelletier". To John Brooks McCormack. 10" h x 8" w. In excellent condition. Inscription and signature in blue ballpoint, a bit uneven but all legible.
An original glossy black-and-white photograph portrait of the Canadian conductor, shown seated with a score, pencil, and cigarette. He inscribes the image to Irish tenor John Brooks McCormack with my best wishes.
Wilfred Pelletier is best remembered as the founder and first conductor of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. He also enjoyed a decades-long appointment at the Metropolitan Opera, conducting the house premieres of Strauss' Die Fledermaus and Stravinsky's Apollo, among other works.
