An original Mishkin sepia photograph portrait of the Spanish soprano, signed and inscribed by her at the upper left to Dr. Oliver Austin. Her calling card, bearing an Easter wish in Italian in her hand, is affixed to the bottom left corner.
Lucrezia Bori performed at the Metropolitan Opera no fewer than 629 times. It was there that she appeared in the American premiere of Rimsky-Korsakov's Snow Maiden, offered her famous interpretations of Manon and Mimi, and sang alongside Enrico Caruso. During the Great Depression she was an indispensable fundraiser for the Metropolitan, as well, raising $300,000 in just two months to keep the 1933 season afloat.

Oliver Austin was a doctor, arts patron, and close friend of Jerome Kern.
