Crease at left (not affecting signature), but otherwise in very good condition.An original glossy black-and-white photo of the significant Italian composer who is shown working on a score with pencil in hand. He signs and inscribes the image to a Mr. Richard L. Miller.
Luigi Dallapiccola gained international recognition in 1949 with the premiere of his serial one-act opera Il prigioniero. Soon after he became a sought-after lecturer in Europe and the Americas, and even taught at New York City's Queens College for several semesters. A second operatic success followed in 1968 with Ulisse.
